Well, here we are at the end of another school year. I am writing to thank you all so much for the support you have given the school this year.
As we come to the end of another extraordinary academic year, I reflect back with immense pride on yet another incredibly challenging year. We can be really proud of our school community for the way in which we have supported one another through the ongoing challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, working together to ensure that we focus on doing everything possible to maintain the highest standards of education possible, both academically and for the children’s personal development too.
The children have been a credit to the school and I am so proud of them all!
Unfortunately, we say goodbye and thank you to Mrs Mara Llewellyn and Mrs Kate Haines for their hard work and dedication during their time with us at Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd. On your behalf, I wish them all every success in their chosen futures and hope that they will always feel a sense of belonging to the ‘YGMG family’.
We also say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils who have contributed greatly to the school’s successes this year. It’s both a sad and exciting time for them and I wish them all the very best in Ysgol Glantaf.
At the end of a very demanding year for all of us (adults and children), I must take the opportunity to tell you how privileged I feel to be leading such a talented and dedicated team of staff here at Melin Gruffydd – our children are incredibly lucky to have them as their teachers and supportive staff!
A note of thanks to them all – thank you for being such a fantastic, hardworking team, working together and supporting each other. Thank you for ensuring that our pupils continue to have enriching experiences and continue to be supported, despite the challenges of covid and staff absences this year. Diolch yn fawr i bob un ohonoch!
I wish you all a relaxing and restful summer holiday. There will be a staff INSET Day on September 5th so we look forward to welcoming Reception-Year 6 children back to school on Tuesday, September 6th.
